FAQ's

Q.  How much does DHEC cost?

A.  $50 per family per year

This fee supports co-op expenses such as facility use, educational materials, special activity expenses, and more. Occasionally, individual class fees are requested depending on required materials or services.   *Field trips are charged separately.  Most activities are free of additional fees.

Q.  Does DHEC require a statement of faith to join?

A. Dickson Homeschool Enrichment Co-op is a Christian homeschool group with conservative, traditional views on relationships, marriage, gender identity, etc. We hold to the unchanging Word of God as our ultimate standard and guide during our classes and fellowship. While we do not require members to sign a statement of faith, parents ARE required to sign a biblically based honor code in order to obtain membership with DHEC.

Q.  Can I drop off my children at co-op?

A.  No, DHEC requires a parent or responsible party to be onsite and assisting during class times.

Q.  Does DHEC celebrate traditional holidays such as Halloween and Christmas?

A.  Out of respect for families' personal beliefs and convictions, we do not focus classes or events on most traditional holidays.

Q.  What is the policy for weather-related cancellations?

A.  DHEC follows the Dickson County School System for school closings. If there is a weather-related closing in Dickson County, then we will cancel Co-op for that day. On rare occasions, we may cancel Co-op due to widespread illness. In the event that co-op classes are canceled, make-up classes will be held the following Tuesday.
